Today I’d like to talk about an artist I discovered on Soundcloud, Cold Poet.
He raps in that unique & amazing deep low voice, with a slow, steady & intense flow.
The beats are something else.
And his Lyrics.. Or should I say his Poetry ? Well, he is one of the few Hip hop artists who can blur the difference between a rap lyric and a poetry line.
He picked his own favorite track for you, Disguised.
Cold Poet, aka Dean Byrne, was born and raised in San Francisco, California.
His music is based off of all the pain and hardships he’s seen in his life, that taught him to understand the world around him rather than to hate it.
He found an art form which allows him to speak his mind, teach, & help others who found themselves in the same situations that he went through.
He’s not in it for the money. And it isn’t just words, he actually is a non-profit musician, and that gives even more depth to his work. He just wanna be heard, be someone the Youth can look up to that isn’t looking down at them as another dollar sign.
He gets his beats through a number of producers through Youtube & Soundcloud that are given out to him for Non-Profit use.
